Orderman Max handheld PDA

Why has Dinerware chosen Orderman as its preferred handheld partner?

"We're not currently looking at a PocketPC alternative, because there are many, many things that prevent them from working well in restaurants:
. Wifi coverage / reliability in the restaurant environment
. Wifi security
. Battery life
. Fragile devices
We don't see a clear path to providing a good user experience there (yet). Those problems are solvable, but you will end up spending as much money as you would have spent on an Orderman, and probably still not get as good a solution. If customers see handhelds as something that will deliver ROI and improve their business, then Orderman is actually very fairly priced. If they see it as something nifty to fool around with, then they shouldn't be thinking about it anyway because they will end up unhappy in the end ..... "

Fact for consideration

When amortized over a 2 year period the cost of a single Orderman handheld, together with the base station would be under $10 per day!

Additional Orderman handhelds (up to the next 4) would cost under $5 per day each!
